Help us prevent future tragedies!

Details are still emerging on the cause of the Lancashire fire at the weekend which resulted in the loss of four young lives. CFOA believes that in this incident and many others where injuries have occurred or lives have been lost, smoke detectors could have prevented tragedy.
Initial fire investigations in Lancashire suggest that the smoke detector in the property was not working. CFOA recommends that all homes are fitted with working smoke detectors and urges everyone to test smoke detectors on a weekly basis, to help keep their families safe from fire.
Dave Curry, CFOA Prevention & Protection Director, said, "Prevention is always better than cure. No family or community wants to be faced with the devastating effects of fire. We know smoke detectors save lives by giving an early warning."
With the help and support of local communities we all can do more to reduce deaths and injuries caused by fire.
Dave Curry went on to say, "If you know of any vulnerable people in your community please help to keep them safe by ensuring a working smoke detector is fitted or by getting in touch with your local fire and rescue service.
