The programme for the 3rd International Tall Building Fire Safety conference has been updated with several new expert speakers now confirmed.

The event features three full days of presentations from a range of international speakers, all experts in their chosen disciplines. It is ideal for anyone responsible for the protection of people, property and assets in tall buildings. Speakers include academics, fire officers, architects, fire protection specialists and building occupiers.

This key conference offers an opportunity to network with professionals from around the world and learn about the challenges and solutions for tall buildings from industry experts.

The first two days will focus on four key themes, including: Management of fire safety; Fire detection & alarm; Fire escape & evacuation; Fire containment & compartmentation. While, on the final day, delegates will have the opportunity to develop their knowledge in one of three vital areas: Business continuity & resilience; Security & terrorism events; or Firefighting.

Each session will feature a keynote address with confirmed speakers including Peter A. Weismantle FAIA, RIBA, Director of Supertall Building Technology, Adrian Smith and Gordon Gill Architecture LLP, Chicago, US; and Professor Ed Galea of the University of Greenwich.

Held at the University of Greenwich, a World Heritage site, the event also features a Gala Dinner in the magnificent surroundings of the University’s Painted Hall. The dinner will feature guest speaker Sir Ranulph Fiennes, who will offer guests an exciting insight into his inspiring career as a global explorer, sharing his countless life threatening experiences and fascinating exploits.

Tall Building Fire Safety Network founding member Russ Timpson says:

“The 2015 conference is an excellent opportunity to get owners of tall buildings and experts in firefighting in tall buildings together to share knowledge and experiences. There have been several fires in tall buildings since our last conference, highlighting the importance of our group. We need to keep sharing ideas and networking to make sure the industry knows the risks”.
