With over 150 attendees from the fire, security and insurance industries and a sold-out exhibitor area the event, which took place on Thursday 17th March, covered all the latest topics of importance in fire safety including the proposed changes to BS 5306-8; the new watermist Standards, DD 8458 and DD 8489; high spaces aspiration and an update on Fire Safety Order prosecutions and what they mean for fire engineers.
Guest speaker, Suzanne Whitehead, provided an insight into how King’s College London has been managing and reducing false alarms. A copy of the full agenda is attached and presentations are available to view at the FIA website, www.fia.uk.com.
Following on from the 2010 aeroplane-themed event, this year’s conference encompassed a different mode of transport - cars - taking place at the prestigious Williams F1 Conference Centre, home of the Williams F1 team.
In addition to the seminar and networking sessions running throughout the day, delegates were able to visit Sir Frank Williams’ own private Grand Prix collection of cars, trophies and memorabilia; the largest private collection of its kind in the world and charting the team’s 31 year motor racing history.
