According to Kingfell's CEO, Paul Bryant, an increasing number of Kingfell's clients are realising that they need to seek expert help to devise plans that manage all of their risks, not just fire, and integrate these into a single, workable crisis management solution. So he brought together what he described as "a uniquely qualified and experienced team". Its task is to tackle the wider aspects of international crisis and incident management and control by applying the philosophy and techniques that Kingfell has successfully employed in the fire safety field for a number of years.
The new service provides clients with access to Kingfell Global Crisis' unique and extensive iCAP - which stands for Incident Control Analytical Program - database. This contains collated and readily available information on a multitude of potential incident scenarios and successful crisis management and control strategies. This provides the client with real-time assistance throughout the emergency in a host of areas, from liaising with the local authorities and emergency services to establishing and maintaining appropriate media relations Where any actions identified by Kingfell Global Crisis' consultants are strategic or mission-sensitive, these will be clearly flagged up, and Paul Bryant says that Kingfell is more than prepared to discuss "stepping into the breach" to resolve any problems in the shortest and most cost-effective manner.
A number of iCAP formats have been devised, each with a specific industry or application focus. These are: iCAP Commerce, a solution for businesses of whatever size; and iCAP Blue Light, which is designed for use by the emergency services and those involved in emergency support functions. iCAP Mass Transit is specifically for rail and rail infrastructure operators; iCAP Aviation is aimed at meeting the special needs of airports and flight operations; and iCAP Heritage is a solution created for the special challenges of those responsible for heritage buildings.
Kingfell recruited one of the world's most experienced crisis and disaster management specialists to head up the operation. Geoff Williams was a deputy chief fire officer with 30 years operational service, before retiring to act as a consultant to fire services and major commercial operations across the world. He was joined by Colin Simpson, another leading specialist in the field of crisis and disaster management. The latest addition to the senior team working alongside Paul Bryant is Dai Seaborn Davies, who until 1996 was Operational Commander in charge of royal family protection.
