Denios Protects The Fire Brigade And The Environment
Fire Fighters in a small rural village in Germany recently escaped certain death, thanks to the unprecedented fire protection offered by Denios with its Chemical Storage Cabinets.
The fire took place at the premises of a local timber furniture manufacturer in Uelzen,Germany, where large volumes of paint, varnishes, staining solutions and solvents were used as part of their production process and in addition to make matters worse, the main building structure itself was manufactured of timber.
At the height of the fire, the heat and flames were so intense, that the PVC window frames and external lights on the property next door fused together or melted.
Fire fighters fought the blaze for several hours before they brought it under control and during the damping down period climbed onto what they believed to be an internally built garage to provide a higher control point over the then subsiding fire.
It was only the following day when fire investigation officers got the opportunity to open the container, that they realised their colleagues had in fact been standing on the Company's flammable liquid store, designed and constructed by Denios.
As the pictures illustrate, not only did the structure remain intact and survive temperatures well in excess of 1100 degrees Celsius, when the doors were opened they found that the doors on the inside were barely marked and that none of the estimated 3000 litres of highly and extremely flammable materials had ignited or posed any danger to their colleagues.
This represents a wonderful example of both the design and manufacturing capabilities of the Denios group and demonstrates this in a very clear and precise way, and why Denios is recognised as being the European Market Leader in the field of Chemical, Hazardous Material Storage and environmental protection.
