Crane Communications installs Notifier ID2000 for 50 million euro development - 'unrivalled experience' in retail fire safety.

Burgess Hill, Sussex, 26 June 2006: Working with Belfast-based fire systems house, Crane Communications Ltd, Notifier by Honeywell (Notifier) has been selected to provide fire safety protection for the Fairgreen Shopping Centre, a 50 million euro retail and community development in Carlow, Ireland.

In the first phase of development, already completed, Crane has installed a Notifier ID2000 fully addressable control panel linked to each retail unit. In Phase Two, currently in development and which is to include an 8 million euro, nine-screen public theatre, a second ID2000 panel has been added to the network together with a complete voice alarm system.

Crane has more than ten years? experience working with Notifier and together the two companies have "unrivalled experience in the sector," says Crane systems manager, Ken Burns, "having provided fire protection solutions for more than 20 retail developments in UK & Ireland.

"Notifier systems continue to remain at the forefront of fire safety development," he believes, "with the result that, today, open-systems, fully addressable solutions such as the ID2000 are ideally suited to large public facilities including hospitals, offices and shopping centres."

The Fairgreen Shopping Centre, owned by Newry-based property developer, Gerard O?Hare, has been developed in conjunction with Russell Simpson Construction and JBE Building Services. "Notifier is exactly what is required in terms of providing a high level of protection for both visitors and shopping centre staff, both now and as the development expands," confirms Burns.

Brett Ennals, UK & Ireland sales manager, Notifier Fire Systems agrees and adds: "Notifier?s modular design offers the cost-effectiveness, robustness and future-proof scalability which retail and leisure developments such as Fairgreen demand."
