Vulcan Fire Training has achieved the considerable coup of becoming the first organisation to receive 'Approved Training Centre' status from the Institute of Fire Safety Management (IFSM).

Fire safety provision is currently a hot topic for many organisations with the implementation of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order (RRO) now complete.

The final sections of the legislation came into effect on 1st October. Every organisation now has to appoint a competent person with responsibility for fire safety management.

'Attaining a recognised qualification demonstrates the necessary level of competency to the authorities enforcing the RRO' states Vulcan MD, Graham Holloway, formerly a senior officer with the London Fire Brigade. 'All of our courses are designed to be as practical as possible, so delegates will take with them the skills and tools they need to put good fire safety management into practice in their organisations.'

Successful delegates on Vulcan's higher level courses will receive their joining fee and first membership subscription with the IFSM at either Technician or Associate Grade level upon successful acceptance by the Institute.

'Vulcan has an experienced team of fire safety experts and an impressive fire training portfolio,' says IFSM Accreditation Secretary, Stuart Cocking. 'The IFSM were delighted to grant Vulcan approved centre status.'
