The campus consists of many buildings of different ages and uses, from a new build catering school to a 45-year-old facility housing workshops.
There were different types of risks in the different buildings which required a greater level of fire safety experience than the internal team had, so they decided to outsource to a company who had the appropriate experience and who would be able to quickly provide a working document.
Solutions, working closely with the college, developed a format where each building was individually fire risk assessed by an experienced consultant and a report produced that detailed all significant findings.
The significant findings from all the buildings were then combined to provide an action plan based on the level of risk. This is now being used by the college as a working document.

This morning we had a visit from our local Fire Officer to carry out an inspection of site and to look at our paperwork. Helen had at this stage produced one sample assessment which was shown to the Fire Officer as an example of the complete document
The Fire Officer spent some time reading through and then commented -a very thorough assessment, this lady certainly knows what she is doing - its looks as though she has left no stone unturned.-
