How To Fine-Tune Your Detector To Virtually Eliminate False Alarms

The sensing elements can be programmed to meet specific environmental conditions to detect fires quickly and accurately, and eliminate false alarms ensuring that when S-Quad registers fire conditions, there really is a fire present. This can be more accurately achieved by combining the sensing technologies in the S-Quad and the fire patterns recognised by the Vigilon control panel.
The S-Quad sensor can be programmed to a number of sensitivity states; it leaves the Gent factory in the Sensitivity State '0', which is suitable for many applications. However, by using the S-Quad Selector, the optimum sensitivity state required for a particular application can be easily identified. In fact, the sensor state can be selected and fixed within an environment, or individual sensors can be programmed to operate during specific time periods.
Using the S-Quad Selector, the application (e.g. Electrical Switch or Plant Room, Bedroom, Large Commercial Kitchen etc) or risk (e.g. Steam, Cooking Fumes, Excessive Cigarette Smoke etc) can be identified on the outside edge of the S-Quad Selector, and the window moved round to show the preferred state for the S-Quad in those conditions. Required detector elements can be also specified, and then adjusted by choosing the very best 'state' to ensure the S-Quad sensor provides its optimum performance.
